Program Information

Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball Travel Program

Rebels travel baseball in Glen Ellyn is fast and exciting. It encompasses the best baseball players in town, and it provides a chance for players to compete against the best players from other towns in northern Illinois.

Players from the Glen Ellyn area have the opportunity to play together under one program that best represents Glen Ellyn. Our travel program will utilize instructional participation from the White Sox Academy and both Glenbard West and Glenbard South High Schools.

Glen Ellyn Rebels logoThe program will provide for one or two full-time and one part-time travel teams for the following age groups:  9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, and 14U. An “A” and “B” full time team will be selected along with one part-time team (depending on interest) at each level to enable each team to best align itself to a full-time or part-time travel league and participate in tournaments featuring teams at similar skill levels.

Training of the players will be performed by the White Sox Academy with input from the coaches at Glenbard South and Glenbard West.

Tryouts take place in August. Tryouts will involve a thorough process and include an objective evaluation criteria which will be established and managed with the help of the White Sox Academy and the Glenbard West and Glenbard South High School coaches.

Full Time Travel Qualifications

We will have teams at the 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U levels.

As many as 24 players will be selected at each age group. The birth date cutoff for each age group is May 1st.

The fee will be determined prior to tryouts of each season.

Full-time Travel Tournaments

Glen Ellyn Summer Classic

Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball is proud to announce the dates for its annual Glen Ellyn Classic. The Glen Ellyn Classic is a tournament for full-time travel teams at the 10 and under, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U levels.

What is the birth date cutoff for each respective age group?

It is important to note that the Pony Baseball Association (group that governs baseball programs across the country) recently made a change to the age requirement needed to participate in a Travel Program. The new cutoff will be May 1st (the old cutoff was August 1st). In order to understand what age group your child can play, ask yourself the question, “How old is my child on May 1st?” Whatever age that is, that is the team he may tryout for.
